NATA Application Form: National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national level entrance examination which is directed by the Council of Architecture (CoA) to give students admission in undergraduate programmes in Architecture which is a 5-year course of BArch. To avoid various aptitude tests, it began in 2006 for students.

NATA exam is conducted twice (in April & May) in a year by CoA, and here students have an option to give both or one of them, as per their choice.

As directed by CoA and duly approved by the Central Government, the NATA Exam guarantees that the qualification criteria for the 5-year course of BArch (Bachelor of Architecture) from any Architectural Institutions available in the country.

The admission department of various Government, Govt. Aided & Unaided schools/colleges of Architecture are using the NATA grades to give admissions. This exam tests drawing and observation abilities, knowledge of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity, and analytical study technique.

Important Dates or NATA Application Form 2020

The NATA exam is carried out in two stages like NATA 1, and NATA 2, which is generally conducted in April and May.

But recently, the Government of India declared the absolute lockdown in the country for containment of pandemic Coronavirus (COVID-19). And that’s why CoA has decided to delay the ensuing first examination of NATA scheduled to be taken on April 19 2020. The new date of NATA 2020 first test will be published after the absolute lockdown will be completed.

The Council of Architecture has changed the exam dates related to NATA Application Form 2020, and they extend the first NATA Exam registration date until April 15, 2020. Also, it delayed all the other relevant dates like picture upload, fee payment, NATA 2020 application form editing window and release of the admit card. What are the NATA 2020 Eligibility Criteria?

Every applicant must meet the NATA 2020 eligibility criteria before fulfilling the NATA application form:

  • Age: There is no age limit to apply for the NATA 2020 exam.
  • Subjects: There are three mandatory subjects in class 12 to apply for NATA 2020: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Qualifications: An applicant must have a 10+2 level qualification from an approved board. Or 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a mandatory subject. Applicants with Arts stream are also qualified if they have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects conducted by CBSE.
  • Marks: Students have to score a minimum of 50% in all three mandatory subjects we have discussed in previous points and also have at least 50% marks in 10 + 2 level or 10 + 3 Diploma. But there is a relaxation of 5% in scores to the applicant from SC, ST, OBC-NCL category or Persons with a disability (PwD).

How to Apply for the NATA 2020 Online?

There is still some time to apply for NATA 1! But do not have ample knowledge of the steps to fill the NATA Application form 2020? Then here we are going through simple steps to fill the NATA 2020 application form one by one.

But before starting the form filling, keep a scanned passport-sized photo of the applicant and scanned Signature in a given format, Cast Certificate / PWD Certificate (if applicable), marksheet of 10 or 10+2 class level. Hence, it’s easy to add all the details while filling the form online.

Let’s go through step by step guideline to fill NATA 2020 Application Form:

  • Register for NATA Exam 2020: First of all, you have to register online at the official website
    • Visit the official NATA website at www.nata.in
    • Now click on the NATA-2020 Registration button available at right corner of the website
    • You will redirect to https://nataregistration.in/index.php, here click on Sign up button
    • Here fill all the details like Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Mobile No., Email Address, Date Of Birth, and Aadhaar Number. After that choose a password that is required to log in here. Add a password and confirm it again. Then select a Security Question and answer it. Enter security captcha code and click on the Sign Up button.
  • Login to NATA Platform: Then you will get an Application No. and Password in SMS to your registered mobile number and or email at the inbox of your Email ID.
    • Again visit https://nataregistration.in/index.php and log in here using Application No./ Email Id and Password
    • After that, fill the Application form for NATA 2020 with all the required personal data like You Name, Parents NAme, Education, Nationality, Address, Qualification, choose examination center, Mark-sheet data, etc as given here in the below image:
  • Then click on the Save and Continue Button.
  • Upload Documents: In the next window, you have to upload your scanned documents:
    • Upload a latest passport-sized photograph and signature of a particular size as given here:
  • After your documents are uploaded successfully, go through your details once again to confirm that all the data are truly added here.
  • NATA Application Fee Payment: Once you finish the application form, just go through the online payment process. Here candidates can pay the fee using an electronic payment gateway like Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Application fee depends upon the category of the candidates like:
    • For General (GEN) category, it’s Rs.2000 for each test or Rs.3800 for both tests
    • For SC/ST/PWD category Rs.1700 for each test or Rs.3100 for both tests
    • If you have chosen Dubai Exam Center category Rs.10000 for each test or Rs.18000 for both tests
  • Printout: Now, after the payment is done successfully, applicants can get a printout of the final NATA Application for later use

So once you fill your form and pay the fees, you may want to check the status of your application:

  • Application Status: To check the status login into your account using the application number and password, here you will see a NATA Application on the screen. The blank entries will be marked red and complete fields will be noted green. If the payment is inadequate or unfinished, a note will be shown. Applicants can do the needed modifications to submit the filled application form.
